Some of you know that I have a little hair hobby. My favorite part of this hobby is collecting hairtoys.
Monday, this little beauty arrived in the mail:

It’s made by Designs by Baerreis, and is their Ursula style fork in Brazilian Tulipwood Rosewood. My first Baerreis. ::dreamy sigh::
I think I’m in love. The wood itself is gorgeous. Look at that figure! The shape of the fork holds wonderfully. And, hey, it looks like this in my hair:

Oooooooh yeah, I’m a happy longhair! ![]()

Thank you, Donna!
::wonders how soon I can save up enough $$ for another fork::

So are you going to show us how one uses this hair toy? Where can a person find one that doesn’t cost a lot of $$$

Thanks!
Elaine, there are directions for this bun at http://archive.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=25234. I put the fork through where the first hair stick would go and then wrapped the “tail” of hair that was left under the bun and pinned it. It looks a little different every time I do it, or if I use sticks vs. a fork. There’s a pic of my hair with sticks in that thread, too.
As for where to find a hair fork…you could try ebay or etsy and search for “wood hair fork”. There are several good crafters out there. Sometimes the price depends on the size of the fork or the type of wood used. Also, if you have any fairs or festivals in your area you might find some good crafters who sell them.
